52 words a year
52 Words a Year is an online project by three London-based illustrators, culminating in 156 drawings, illustrating 52 words from February 2014 to February 2015.
A year ago, Mayumi Mori, Leni Kauffman and Oliver O'Keeffe came together and created the project "52 Words a Year". Every week a word was selected, and each illustrator interpreted it in their own way. The project has developed the creativity and flexibility of the artists and tested approach to their practice.
The three illustrators met in 2004 at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, at the start of their reckless twenties. Though a decade has now passed and the three are now in their early thirties, they continue to draw, and drink, more than ever. As of the 11th of March, they have continued into the second consecutive year of their project, and show no sign of stopping.
